RECENT EXHIBITIONS
The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences announced that a Flight of Butterflies will arrive at the museum on April 25, 2024. “This spectacle is an expansive, city-wide outdoor exhibit combining nature, art, and storytelling to deliver a powerful and memorable experience to Chicagoans of all ages. Local artists adorned aluminum butterfly sculptures with original designs, expressing their unique connections to nature.”
Environmental Graphiti is thrilled to have created one of these vibrant butterflies. Titled Choosing Our Planet’s Future, the butterfly will be displayed on the second floor of the museum (2430 N Cannon Drive, Chicago) until mid-July, 2024, before moving to its home in the North Pond section of Chicago’s Lincoln Park - 2610 N. Cannon Drive, in front of the North Pond Café - where it will remain until the summer of 2025.

Environmental Graphiti art was featured at the exhibition Powered by Nature, Powering the Future which presented renewable resources such as wind and solar energy in a sensory way. The exhibition was organized by the World Wildlife Fund of China, and held at the National Museum of China, Bejing, September 26th to October 22nd, 2023.
Environmental Graphiti art will be exhibited at VERGE – The Climate Tech Event, Oct 24-26, 2023 San Jose Convention Center. “VERGE 23 is the leading climate tech event accelerating solutions to the most pressing challenges of our time. ENCOURAGING CLIMATE LITERACY IN EDUCATION
Environmental Graphiti has collaborated with professional educators at UCI-Irvine and Oregon State University to create TOOLKITS for teachers to adapt the art for educational programs.
In collaboration with the team at the UCI-Science Project* we have created two Toolkits targeted for middle school through high school:
Enliven Data with Art and The Power of Digital Storytelling, each of which includes the related guide for teachers.
*The UCI-Science Project specializes in working with “… students, PK-12 teachers, and educational leaders to tackle 21st century issues using research-based approaches in science education. Our areas of expertise include specialized professional learning opportunities with your educators in collaboration with UCI faculty/staff and community partners, district partnerships for yearlong supports in identified areas of need, collaborative community outreach programs, and direct PK-12 student programming to bring science and engineering to our communities!”
Environmental Graphiti collaborated with the Oregon State University SMILE program to create a toolkit for K-12 teachers. SMILE (Science & Math Investigative Learning Experiences) is a precollege program at Oregon State University.
The School of Education at the University of California, Irvine, hosted a relaunch event for the Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects, a partnership between the University of California and California State University systems. The ECCLPs are focused on advancing pre-kindergarten to 12th grade environmental and climate change literacy, justice and action. Stakeholders will learn about several new UC-CSU initiatives for research, teaching, learning and community partnerships from several keynote speakers. Environmental Graphiti art was exhibited at the conference in both a print and digital display.
COVER ART
Alisa Singer created the art for the covers of three major reports recently released by the UN sponsored Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change: Climate Change 2021 – The Physical Basis (August 2021) and Climate Change 2022 - Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability (February 2022), marking the third time Environmental Graphiti art has appeared on the cover of a major UN report.
The art will be featured on the cover of the soon-to-be released textbook: Energy Systems: A Project-Based Approach to Sustainability thinking for Energy Conversion Systems, by Leon Liebenberg, an Associate Professor in engineering at University of Illinois-Urbana.
RECENT ART ACQUISITIONS
University of California-Irvine is adding to more works of Environmental Graphiti art, creating an even dozen of oversized pieces installed at its student center. An additional 18 pieces are displayed in various dorms on campus.
Smith College recently acquired 10 pieces of Environmental Graphiti art.
Georgetown University has acquired over 25 pieces of Environmental Graphiti art that are currently installed at various locations throughout its main campus. The exhibition was timed to coordinate with the launch of Georgetown’s Earth Commons Institute..” a hub for environmental and sustainability innovation, research and education to accelerate action on the most pressing issues of our earth. Assembling a team of interdisciplinary experts, researchers, leaders and students, the Earth Commons is transforming the university into a living laboratory to develop scalable solutions for a greener, more sustainable world.” Ultimately, it is anticipated that Earth Commons will move to its own space and all or most of the art will follow. Ten pieces of Environmental Graphiti art will soon be exhibited at Smith College as part of a recently acquired collection.
The Univershifté is an event that took place in Lyon, France, on the 25th and 26th of June , 2022, bringing together, for its second edition, 3000 participants and more than 80 panelists and speakers.This event is organized by the volunteers of The Shifters association in support of The Shift Project think tank. Its main goal is to shed some light on the debate around the climate crisis and the energy transition.

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago has acquired three pieces of Environmental Graphiti art for integration into its permanent climate change exhibit, which will remain in Chicago for a year or so and will then travel to other science museums. The museum also hosted a large year-long solo exhibit of the art which ended in March 2020.
The University of Chicago has installed two pieces which were donated several years ago in anticipation of the opening of their new space for the Program on Global Environment. Alisa Singer spoke at an April 19 reception to introduce the art sponsored by the university’s Chicago Studies and Program on the Global Environment.
Environmental Graphiti art was featured in Chicago’s Adler Planetarium April 20, 2022 newsletter “Space from Home”.

Alisa Singer created the cover for the major UN report Climate Change 2022 - Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, released February 28, 2022. The piece is titled “A Borrowed Planet - Inherited from our ancestors. On loan from our children.”

FEATURED MUSEUM EXHIBITION
Environmental Graphiti® was on exhibit at MOXI, the Wolf Museum of Exploration & Innovation, in Santa Barbara, California. MOXI is a new “hands-on destination” intended to “ignite learning through interactive experiences in science and creativity”.

Georgetown University acquires large collection
Georgetown University has installed more than 20 pieces of Environmental Graphiti art which it is displaying throughout the main campus. Ten pieces of Environmental Graphiti art were acquired by Smith College in 2022.
AASHE Auction
The art was featured at the October, 2017 annual conference of AASHE (The Association for the Advance of Sustainability in Higher Education). Universities and colleges were invited to bid to receive artwork based on the amount of exposure the pieces would receive on the school's campus. Over 50 bids were submitted for 20 pieces. (Due to the volume of bids the number of pieces available was increased to 26.) The following schools were selected as winners based on their commitment to display the art prominently on campus to further Environmental Graphiti's mission to use art to enhance public awareness of the science of climate change:
